ஊர் கூடி ஊழலை எதிர்ப்போம்...!

             “லஞ்சம் ஊழல் முன்பிருந்ததை விட மோசமாகிவிட்டது. அதனைத் தவிர்ப்பது என்பதற்கான முயற்சியே இல்லாமல் போய்விட்டது. லஞ்ச ஊழலில் ஈடுபடும் ஏராளமானவர்கள் ஒன்றை உணர்ந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். தேசம் என்பது அவர்களின் சுரண்டலுக்காக வாழவில்லை. மாறாக, அவர்கள் தேசத்துக்கு தொண்டு புரிவதற்காக வாழ்கிறார்கள்’’ என அண்ணல் காந்திஜி 26.1.1948 அன்று பிரார்த்தனை கூட்டத்தில் பேசினார். நாடு சுதந்திரமடைந்த 5 மாதங்களுக்குள் ஊழல் நடைபெற்றதைக் கண்டு மனம்நொந்து காந்திஜி பேசியது இன்றும் பொருத்தமாகயிருக்கிறது. ஆனால், கடந்த 67 ஆண்டுகளில் காந்தி கண்டதைவிட ஊழல்கள் என்பது பன்மடங்கு அதிகரித்துவிட்டது. 1991 -ஆம் ஆண்டில்  நவீன தாராளமயக் கொள்கையின் அமலாக்கம் தொடங்கிய பிறகு ஊழல்கள் புதிய பரிமாணத்தை அடைந்தது.
             மத்தியிலும், மாநிலங்களிலும் ஆட்சி அதிகாரத்திற்கு வந்த பல தலைவர்கள் செய்த ஊழல் கணக்கிலடங்கா. பெங்களூரு சிறப்பு நீதிமன்றத்தால் சொத்து குவிப்பு வழக்கில் நான்கு ஆண்டுகள் தண்டிக்கப்பட்ட தமிழக முன்னாள் முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா சிறையில் உள்ளார். சிறையில் உள்ள ஜெயலலிதா உள்ளிட்ட நான்கு பேரை ஜாமீனில் விடுதலை செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தில் மனு செய்துள்ளனர். நீதிமன்றம் ஜெயலலிதாவிற்கு தண்டனை வழங்கப்பட்ட தேதியிலிலிருந்து இதுவரையில் அதிமுகவைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் பல வடிவங்களில் இயக்கங்கள் நடத்தி வருகின்றனர். தீர்ப்பை விமர்சிப்பதோ, இயக்கம் நடத்துவதோ அவர்களது உரிமையென்றாலும், அவர்கள் முன்வைக்கும் கோஷங்கள் ஊழலை நியாயப்படுத்துவதாக அமைந்துள்ளது. “ தர்மத்தின் வாழ்வுதனை சூது கவ்வும்: தர்மம் மீண்டும் வெல்லும்’’ என அதிமுகவினர் தட்டி போர்டு வைத்துள்ளனர்.
                  ஊழல் செய்வதை தர்மம் என்றும், ஊழலுக்காக நீதிமன்றம் அளித்த தண்டனையை சூது என்றும் வாதிடுவதைப் போல் மேற்கண்ட வாசகங்கள் அமைந்துள்ளன. இதைப்போலவே, “ நீதிக்கு அநீதியா’’, “தெய்வத்தை மனிதன் தண்டிப்பதா’’ என்றெல்லாம் ஆளுங்கட்சியைச் சேர்ந்தவர்களும், அவரது ஆதரவாளர்களும் சுவரொட்டிப் பிரச்சாரம் செய்து வருகின்றனர். இந்தத் தீர்ப்பு பெங்களூரு சிறப்பு நீதிமன்றத்தால் வழங்கப்பட்டதால், தேவையில்லாமல் இன அடிப்படையில் இந்தப்பிரச்சனையை திசை திருப்பவும் முயன்றனர். ஜெயலலிதா உள்ளிட்டோருக்கு எதிரான தீர்ப்பை தொடர்ந்து தமிழகத்தின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளில் ஆளுங்கட்சியான அதிமுகவினர் வன்செயல்களில் ஈடுபட்டனர். அரசுப் பேருந்துகள் கொளுத்தப்பட் டன.
                    ஆளுங்கட்சியின் நிர்ப்பந்தம் காரணமாக பல்வேறு தரப்பினர் வேலை நிறுத்தம் செய்வதாக அறிவித்தனர். இதில் தனியார் பள்ளி முதலாளிகளும் அடக்கம். மார்க்சிஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சி உள்ளிட்ட கட்சிகளின் கடும் எதிர்ப்பு காரணமாக இவர்கள் பின்வாங்கினர். அதிமுக தொடங்கப்பட்ட  போது அதனுடைய நிறுவனத்தலைவர் எம்.ஜி.ஆர் அவர்கள், திமுக ஆட்சியில் நடைபெற்ற ஊழலை விசாரிக்க விசாரணை கமிஷன் அமைக்க வேண்டும் என்று ஆளுநரிடம் மனுக்கொடுத்தார். அப்படிப்பட்ட கட்சியின் பொதுச்செயலாளரும், தமிழக முன்னாள் முதல்வருமான ஜெயலலிதா தற்போது ஊழலுக்காக தண்டிக்கப்பட்டு சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
               1970 களில் ஜெயபிரகாஷ் நாராயணன் தலைமையில் பீகார், குஜராத் போன்ற வடமாநிலங்களில் ஊழல் எதிர்ப்பு இயக்கங்கள் நடைபெற்றன. இதில், லாலு பிரசாத் போன்ற தலைவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு பிரபலமானார்கள். பிற்காலத்தில், லாலு பீகார் முதல்வரானார். ஊழல் எதிர்ப்பு இயக்கத்தில் கலந்து கொண்ட அவர், ஊழலுக்காக தண்டிக்கப்பட்டு தனது நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் பதவியை இழந்துள்ளார். தங்களது கட்சி வித்தியாசமானது என்று கூறிக்கொள்ளும் பாஜகவின் அகில இந்திய தலைவராக இருந்த பங்காரு லெட்சுமணன் ஊழல் வழக்கில் சிக்கி கையும், களவுமாக பிடிபட்டு தண்டிக்கப்பட்டார். மத்தியில் பாஜக ஆட்சியின் போது கார்கில் ராணுவ வீரர்களுக்கு சவப்பெட்டி வாங்கியதில் நடைபெற்ற ஊழல் வழக்கு இன்னும் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. கர்நாடகா மாநிலத்தில் பாஜக தலைமையிலான ஆட்சியில் முதல்வராக இருந்த எடியூரப்பா, லோக் அயுக்தா நீதிமன்ற விசாரணையில் கைது செய்யப்பட்டு சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டார். முதலமைச்சர் பதவியை இழந்த அவர் மீதான ஊழல் வழக்கு நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. ஆனால், அவர் பாஜக வேட்பாளராக போட்டியிட்டு நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினராகியிருக்கிறார். இதைப் போலவே, எடியூரப்பா அமைச்சரவையில் இருந்த ரெட்டி சகோதரர்கள் ஊழல் வழக்கில் சிக்கி ( இரும்பு தாதுப்பொருள் சட்டவிரோதமாக ஏற்றுமதி செய்ததில் 20ஆயிரம் கோடி ரூபாய் அரசுக்கு இழப்பு ) சிறையில் உள்ளனர். மராட்டிய மாநிலத்தில் பாஜகவைச் சேர்ந்த சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர், சட்டவிரோதமாக மின்சாரம் திருடிய வழக்கில் பதவியை இழந்து சிறையில் உள்ளார். திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழக நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினராக இருந்த செல்வகணபதி அதிமுக ஆட்சியின் போது அவர் செய்த ஊழலுக்காக தற்போது தண்டிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். திராவிட முன்னேற்றக்கழகத்தினுடைய முன்னாள் மத்திய அமைச்சர் ஆ.ராசா மற்றும் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினரான கனிமொழி ஆகியோர் மீதான 2ஜி அலைக்கற்றை வழக்கு விசாரணை முடிந்து தீர்ப்பு வழங்கப்படும் கட்டத்தில் உள்ளது. திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த மத்திய அமைச்சராக இருந்த தயாநிதி மாறன் மீதான ஏர்செல் - மேக்சிஸ் ஊழல் வழக்கில் குற்றப்பத்திரிகை தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட உள்ளது. அவரது சொத்துக்களில் ஒரு பகுதியை முடக்கப்போவதாக செய்திகளும் வெளியாகியுள்ளன.
              தன்னுடைய கட்சி முக்கியப் பிரமுகர்கள் மீதான ஊழல் வழக்குகள் விசாரணையில் உள்ளதால் தான் கடந்த 8.10.2014அன்று நடைபெற்ற திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழக மாவட்டச்செயலாளர்கள் கூட்டத்தில் பல தீர்மானங்கள் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்ட போதும், ஊழல் குறித்து ஒரு தீர்மானம் கூட வெளியிடப்படவில்லை. காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியின் ஊழலைப் பற்றிச்சொல்லத் தேவையில்லை. அக்கட்சியைச் சேர்ந்த நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் மசூது, ஊழல் வழக்கில் தண்டிக்கப்பட்டு தனது பதவியை இழந்துள்ளார். காமன்வெல்த் விளையாட்டுப் போட்டி ஊழல், ஆதர்ஷ் குடியிருப்பு ஊழல், நிலக்கரி சுரங்க ஒதுக்கீடு ஊழல் உள்ளிட்ட வழக்குகளில் காங்கிரஸ் கட்சித் தலைவர்கள் சிக்கியுள்ளனர். ஏர்செல்-மேக்சிஸ் ஊழல் வழக்கில் அன்றைய மத்திய நிதியமைச்சரான ப.சிதம்பரத்தை ஏன் விசாரிக்கவில்லையென்று உச்சநீதிமன்றம் கேள்வி எழுப்பியுள்ளது. மத்தியிலும், மாநிலத்திலும் ஆட்சிக்கு வந்தவர்கள்  ஊழலில் ஈடுபடுவது தொடர்ச்சியாக நிகழ்ந்த ஒன்று.
               இருப்பினும், 1991 ஆம் ஆண்டு நவீன தாராளமயப் பொருளாதாரக் கொள்கைகள் அமலாக்கம் துவங்கிய போது, ஊழலின் பரிமாணம் புதிய வடிவத்தைப் பெற்றது. இக்காலத்தில் பெரும் தொழிலதிபர்கள், அரசியல்வாதிகள், அதிகார வர்க்கத்தினர் கூட்டணி அமைத்து கோடி கோடியாகக் கொள்ளையடித்து வருகின்றனர். அலைக்கற்றை ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யும் அதிகாரம் உள்ள அரசியல் தலைவர்களும், அலைக்கற்றையை கையூட்டு கொடுத்து பெற்ற பெருமுதலாளிகளும், இத்தகைய வேலையில் ஈடுபட்ட அதிகாரிகளும் இணைந்தது தான் புதுவடிவிலான ஊழல். இது தான் நிலக்கரி சுரங்க ஒதுக்கீட்டிலும் நடைபெற்றது. இயற்கை வளத்தை பயன்படுத்த பன்னாட்டு, உள்நாட்டு கம்பெனிகளுக்கு உரிமம் வழங்குகின்ற போது இத்தகைய ஊழல்கள் நடைபெறுகின்றன. அன்னா ஹசாரே தலைமையிலான ஊழல் எதிர்ப்பு இயக்கம் 2 ஜி அலைக்கற்றை ஊழல் மற்றும் பிற பெரும் ஊழலை எதிர்த்து ஒரு சீற்றத்தை உருவாக்கியது. ஆனாலும், நவீன தாராளமயக்கொள்கையினால் பெரும் தொழிலதிபர்கள் - அரசியல்வாதிகள் - அதிகார வர்க்கத்தினர் இணைந்து செய்த ஊழல் குறித்து அவர் குறிப்பிடவில்லை.
               இச்சூழலில் தான், 2011 ஜுலை 15 முதல் 21 ம் தேதி வரை நாடு முழுவதும் ஜன்லோக்பால் சட்டத்தைக் கொண்டு வரவேண்டும் என்றும், தேர்தல்களில் பணபலத்தைக் கட்டுப்படுத்துவதற்குத் தேர்தல் சீர்திருத்தங்களைச் செய்ய வேண்டும் எனவும் மார்க்சிஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சி சார்பில் பிரச்சார இயக்கம் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது. மேலும், தேசிய நீதித்துறை ஆணையத்தின் மூலம் நீதித்துறையை மேற்பார்வையிடுவதற்கான சட்டம் கொண்டு வரவேண்டும் என்றும் மார்க்சிஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சி வலியுறுத் தியது.ஊழல் என்பது சமூகத்திற்கெதிரான குற்றமென்றும், அதிகாரத்தை ஊழல் செய்வதற்கான தொழிற்கூடமாகப் பயன்படுத்தக்கூடாதென்றும் உச்சநீதிமன்றம் ஊழலைப் பற்றிய தீர்ப்புகளில் கடுமையாகச் சாடியுள்ளது. ஊழலை எதிர்ப்பது மட்டுமல்ல, கம்யூனிஸ்ட் இயக்கத்தலைவர்கள் மாநில ஆட்சிப்பொறுப்பில் இருந்தபோது நடைமுறையில் ஊழலற்ற நிர்வாகத்தையும் அளித்துள்ளனர் என்பதற்கு மேற்குவங்கம், கேரளம் மற்றும் திரிபுரா மாநிலங்கள் சான்றாக உள்ளன.
           கேரளாவில் முதலமைச்சராக இருந்த இ.எம்.எஸ்.நம்பூதிரிபாட், இ.கே.நாயனார், அச்சுதமேனன், வி.எஸ்.அச்சுதானந்தன், மேற்கு வங்கத்தில் ஜோதிபாசு, புத்ததேவ் பட்டாச்சார்யா, திரிபுராவில் நிருபன் சக்கரவர்த்தி, தசரவ்தேவ், தற்போது முதலமைச்சராக உள்ள மாணிக் சர்க்கார் உள்ளிட்டோர் அதிகாரத்திற்கு வருவது மக்களுக்குச் சேவை செய்வதற்காகத்தான் என்பதை நடைமுறையில் நிரூபித்துக் காட்டியுள்ளனர். இந்திய அரசியலில் ஊழல் கறை படியாதவர்கள் இடதுசாரி கட்சிகள் மட்டுமே. காங்கிரஸ், பாஜக, தமிழகத்தில்அதிமுக, திமுக ஆகிய அனைத்துக்கட்சிகளுமே ஊழல் குற்றச்சாட்டுகளுக்கு உள்ளாகியுள்ளன. இந்த நிலையில் அனைத்து வகையான ஊழலுக்கு எதிராகவும் போராடும் தார்மீக தைரியம் பெற்றவர்கள் இடதுசாரிகளே ஆவர். இத்தகைய பின்னணியில், தமிழகத்தில் ஊழலை எதிர்த்து இயக்கம் நடத்துவதென மார்க்சிஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சியின் மாநில செயற்குழு முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.
          மாநிலத்தில் லோக் அயுக்தா சட்டம் கொண்டு வரவேண்டும் என்றும், தாதுமணல் கொள்ளை, கிரானைட் கொள்ளை, மணல் கொள்ளை ஆகியவற்றை விசாரித்து அறிக்கை அளிக்க வேண்டுமென்று சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றம் அளித்த தீர்ப்பின் அடிப்படையில் ஐ.ஏ.எஸ் அதிகாரி உ.சகாயம் விசாரிக்க மாநில அரசு ஒத்துழைக்க வேண்டும் என்று வலியுறுத்தியும், அரசு நிர்வாகத்தில் எல்லா மட்டத்திலும் ஊழலை ஒழித்திடவும், மேலும் ஊழலின் ஊற்றுக்கண்ணாக உள்ள நவீன தாராளமயப் பொருளாதாரக் கொள்கைகளை எதிர்த்தும் மார்க்சிஸ்ட் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சி மாநிலம் தழுவிய பிரச்சாரத்தை நடத்த உள்ளது.

People vow to create their Alternative at Delhi - A tidal Red wave at Brigade...!

        
                 People, in unending protest lines, in lakhs, came in from all over the state; women, the elderly, children, youth, students, teachers, intellectuals, farmers & workers. The spirit was revolutionary, the ambient sound, mythical. A roar a minute, from every common man, registering his protest against the misrule of the 30 month Trinamool government! The thunder of the collective roar would have surely reached the CM’s ears when CPI (M) General Secretary, Prakash Karat said that the only alternative for a people’s government at the center was the Left led coalition. The collective roar seemed to better itself when former Chief Minister & CPI (M) Polit Bureau member, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya thundered that while Mamata Banerjee is able to avoid answering to the Bengal Assembly, she will have to answer to the people.

                 The entire Left Front with its state & national leaders were in full attendance on the stage & speaker after speaker was greeted with thunderous applause from the assembled multitude. The martyrs were remembered, saluted! The galaxy of speakers were led by Prakash Karat, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, Biman Bose, Surjyakanta Mishra of the CPI (M), Ashok Ghosh & Hafiz Alam Sairani of the Forward Bloc, Kshiti Goswami of the RSP, Manjukumar Majumdar of the CPI, Ratan Mazumdar of DSP, Janmejaya Ojha of the SP, Mihir Bain of the RCPI, Pratim Chatterjee of the MFB, Umesh Choudhury of BBC, Shivnath Sinha of the Workers party, Samar Bardhan of the Bolshevik party. Every speaker castigated the Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool government for its attack on democracy, its encouragement of unprecedented atrocities on women, its inaction on the growing inflation & the growing totalitarian nature of its government.  Forward Bloc & RSP leadership flays both their errant MLAs & the conduct of the Trinamool party in the unprecedented horse trading in the just concluded Rajya Sabha polls.

                Left Front Chairman & CPI (M) Polit Bureau member, Biman Bose reminded the audience of the promises made by the TMC before the 2009 LS polls & 2011 Assembly polls. The promises of employment, industry, schemes for farmers, universities, even airports across the state, et al remained empty. He reminded the audience that while her promise before the polls was to do away with contractual employment, she had only created a handful of contractual jobs which pay less than the minimum wage. All that the CM was interested in was hosting ‘festivals’ at the cost of keeping crores of stomachs hungry. The government & the ruling party were encouraging the growth of anarchy & divisive forces. It was trying to break the unity of the poor & toiling masses, every dissenting voice muffled. He urged the people of Bengal to recognise the true face of this ‘dishonest’ political force, which has taken 145 lives of left workers & leaders so far. She had allowed her ‘naughty’ boys to attack women with gay abandon, with the most heinous cases of rape & murder becoming common place. It was a shame for all Bengalis that the most modern, cultured & safe society of Bengal leads the country today, in atrocities against women.

               Prakash Karat termed the rally a historic one, both in terms of sheer numbers & for overcoming the Trinamool terror. He blasted the UPA-2 government which came to power in 2009 with Mamata Banerjee’s help as one which has only multiplied the woes of the common man; rampaging inflation, growing unemployment, massive corruption. The BJP, which was trying to position itself as an alternative, had the same economic policies. Modi’s Gujarat model, he said, is but a euphemism for large scale ‘loot’ by big corporations, Indian & MNC. He stands for ensuring supernormal profits for these companies & will complete the full measure of neo-liberal economic policy. That apart, Karat reminded the people of BJP’s divisive agenda & Modi’s role in the 2002 genocide. The party is therefore working towards creating a non-Cong & non-BJP alternative that will govern the country on an ‘alternative policy’ trajectory. He informed the people of Bengal of the initiative taken by the CPI (M) & the left parties to bring together all secular & democratic parties to fight the scourge of communalism; a 14 party convention was successfully held in Delhi. He announced that all parties will meet soon & announce the ‘Third Alternative’ before the Lok Sabha elections.

              The Leader of the Opposition & CPI (M) Polit Bureau member, Surjyakanta Mishra electrified the audience with his appeal to the CM to use her ‘eyes & ears’ to listen to the protests of the people of Bengal. He castigated her for the complete lack of democracy in her party, her voice being the only one, as was evident in the TMC rally on the 30^th of Dec. As he delivered the Charge sheet, one after the other, the massive crowd roared its approval. He dubbed the government, 1) Totalitarian, 2) Anti-people, 3) Anti-development & 4) Corrupt. He exposed the massive growth of per capita debt of Bengal after this party came to power. 55,000 crs had been added in just 30 months, more than 1/4^th of the total debt the state had after almost 60 yrs of rule since independence. Bengal had gone from being the 13^th in per capita debt to being the no.1 in the country. He charged that the CM had bankrupted the state by her ad hoc expenses, most of it in festivals across the state, throughout the year. The new administrative calendar was more of a festival itinerary, having planned 60 in the coming year, one a week. He thundered that the people will no longer allow her to loot the votes like she had done during the Panchayat & Municipal polls, they will fight back. Mishra ended his speech with a reference to a legendary piece of dialogue from Satyajit Ray’s iconic ‘Hirak Rajar Deshe’. Replacing the Raja with a ‘Rani’, he asked the people to do what the revolutionary school teacher had asked the people fighting the evil tyrant, ‘Dori dhore maaro taan, Raja hobe khaan khaan’, i.e., ‘ Give the rope a strong tug, the King will bite the dust’!

                            Former CM & CPI (M) Polit Bureau member, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, ended the meeting with a brief detailing of the policy alternative; industry & jobs, arresting the fuel price hike & inflation, Land to the rural poor, no selling of banks, insurance companies or natural resources. Every policy commitment was seconded by the people by a thundering roar. When he thanked the audience & the people of Bengal for ensuring a record turnout, the applause lasted minutes. He said that the Mamata government was insulting the youth of the state, not only increasing unemployment by closing down industry, but being dishonest in advertising creation of new jobs, a trickle actually; like the contractual policemen, which paid less than minimum wage or exhorting them to work for fraudulent companies such as Sharada, etc.  He accused her of playing with the lives of the Bengali people. He said all work, be it industry or agricultural had come to a standstill. He termed the government as shameless; to be wasting people’s money for promoting her own face in government sponsored advertisements at an unprecedented scale, every possible media vehicle, every day. He blasted the CM again for having a tacit understanding with the communal BJP & exposed Modi’s governance claims. He reminded the people that Gujarat, unlike Bengal had no Land Reforms, no people’s representation at the grass-roots. It was backward in both primary & secondary education. He said that the people of Bengal know that it will repent the ‘Two Laddoos of Modi-Mamata coalition’ that BJP PM hopeful offered, i.e. ‘Modi at the Center & Mamata at the state. The people of Bengal, he said , knew that the left front stood for all round development of the working masses & will vote for a non-Cong, Non-BJP ‘Third Alternative’ at the center.

             Earlier, in the day, one saw scores of people march towards the Brigade grounds from all corners of the city. A common slogan was that the ‘Mamata Government was no longer required in the state’. Echoing the sentiment, Biman Bose ended his speech urging the people of Bengal to turn out a win for the Left Front in each of the 42 seats in the coming Lok Sabha elections. That would be a record. But then, this political season has been one of breaking records, the turnout at this Brigade Rally of the Left Front surpassing all previous benchmarks & expectations!

                  As Buddhadeb Bhattacharya said, ‘the voices of the toiling masses of Bengal cannot be stopped; the Red Flag can never be forced to surrender’!

           Since its formation, this is the first time the communist party is taking out a nationwide jatha touring from all the states of India. The time and theme of the jatha adds importance.  The last Central Committee meeting of CPIM held in January 28 finalized the programme of the all India jathas. These jathas which will traverse the length and breadth of the country will propagate the Party’s stand on various major issues affecting the people and the alternative policies of the Left. The issues of food security and price rise; land and house sites; employment; education and health; and the fight against corruption will be focused in these jathas.

        The four jathas will be from Kanyakumari to Delhi led by Ramachandran Pillai; Kolkata to Delhi led by Prakash Karat; Mumbai to Delhi led by Sitaram Yechury; and Amritsar to Delhi led by Brinda Karat. Jathas to link up with the main jathas will be conducted from Srinagar, Guwahati, Parlakhemundi (Orissa), Ahmedabad and other centres.

           The jathas which will begin from February 25 and the first week of March will culminate in a mass rally in Delhi on March 19, 2013. Cadres and people from Delhi, Bihar, Madhyapradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab will participate in the Delhi mass rally with a participation of More than 1 lakh. 

           Preperations are going on in hectic pace to make the jatha a grand success. State committees are also planning state wide jathas to create awareness among the people on the issues raised by the all india Jatha. Various sub jathas are also planned in each states. 

Kanyakumari - Delhi Jatha

       The Southern Jatha from Kanyakumari to New Delhi will be led by PB Member Com. S Ramachandran Pillai. PB Member M A Baby, Central Secretariat member V Sreenivasa Rao, CC member Sudha Sundarraman will also be part of the jatha. The jatha will cover 7 states. Starting from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu the jatha will cover Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarpradesh. Jatha will be inaugurated on the 24^th of February 2013 by CPIM General Secretary Com. Prakash Karat. The jatha will join with the Western Jatha led by Com. Sitaram Yechury at Bhopal on March 12.
